Work
Building Go-for-Go at Datadog APM: compile-time and runtime instrumentation, profiling, and performance tooling for Go services.
Currently focused on Go runtime and compiler internals, building AST manipulation tools for injecting instrumentation systems. This work spans OpenTelemetry Go compile instrumentation, Datadog Orchestrion, and dd-trace-go (see Open Source for details).
Learning & Exploration
Deep in agentic engineering as a hobby. Building complex multi-agent flows and finding their limits: what these systems do well, and what falls over once you push past the demo.
Day-to-day I live inside Claude Code and pi, the two agentic coding environments doing most of the heavy lifting.
Still focused on writing, blogging, engineering leadership, and the internals of LLMs. Exploring how these tools work under the hood and how to build better systems with them.
Hobby Tech
Running local LLMs on my Raspberry Pi cluster. I’m convinced Raspberry Pi plus local compute is where a lot of the future of LLMs actually lives, and I want to see how much you can squeeze out of cheap hardware and small models.
Family & Life
Based in Berlin with my partner and our son. The boy sets the schedule, which is fair. Whatever free time is left collapses into three buckets: read, exercise, write.
On the movement side: gravel cycling when the weather and the calendar agree, plus HIIT boot camps, Hyrox, and indoor cycling on the trainer for the in-between days. Still dreaming of bikepacking trips with my boy once he’s old enough for two wheels.
Reading & Writing
Reading a mix of systems papers, engineering leadership books, and sci-fi. The to-read pile and the article backlog keep growing faster than I burn through them; check my reading page for what’s currently in rotation.
The read-then-write loop now feeds The Unwind, my roughly-weekly newsletter of links and notes. Other notes and insights still land in the notes section when useful.
